Speedway

Ayrton first started his career at the age of 13 in Ministocks. After 4 years in the class Ayrton moved on to a Wingless Sprint Car for one season. A one off drive in the Bayspeed 14M Sprint Car at the end of the of 21/22, was enough for the team to decide that they'd run the Sprint car full-time during the next Baypark Speedway season. After 3 top 5's in that debut season, he went on to have multiple heat wins and a maiden Feature race win in his second year. The team will now evaluate an unfortunate engine failure at the cars last run, before deciding on their next move.

Tarmac

Ayrton started his Tarmac Motorsport Career in 2023 after competing in speedway for 6 years. As a rookie in the 2023 Toyota 86 Racing Series, he adapted to tarmac well, scoring a podium and multiple top 10 finishes during the season. He then moved up to share a BMW Z4 in the North Island & New Zealand Endurance Championships, impressively winning their class after some closely fought battles. Ayrton was also invited to compete at the Highlands 6hr in a Mercedes GT4, where he quickly got to grips with a new car and put it on pole position for the class. He then stepped up to a Porsche 991.1 Cup car to compete in the South Island Endurance series, where he took a well earned podium at the first round, on his way to 3rd in Class for the Championship. Carrying that momentum in to the NZ GT Championship, he won the opening 1 hour race in treacherous conditions. For 2024, Ayrton will be competing in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge in Australia, as part of the highly experienced McElrea Racing team.
